How to be balanced while out of balance reaching your goals

If you are working towards a goal or a big dream there are times in that journey that life will not be in complete balance. Race days are a prime example of this! Nutrition is not like a day to day, schedule is different; and if you are traveling to race or compete then more than just race day is going to look different. Being out of balance is necessary sometimes to achieve what you set out to do. So this begs the question, how can we be in perfect balance while out of balance chasing our dreams and goals? Is it possible? I am here to tell you yes indeed it is possible. Let's discuss how.

  1. Know what you need to succeed.

We want to start with the base line of our day to day to succeed. This looks like building out a schedule of your day and training. Once that is set test it out! Is any part of your foundation hard to achieve? Adjust and get that all in order. Setting a focus and intention is also crucial here.

  1. Race day or competition day

Now let's get out there and hit a goal or two. Set up the nutrition and the schedule for this. Make it repeatable and best case for you to do your best! Then we see the results and see where training needs to adjust.

Just like any season there are times where you compete and times where you taper and other times where you rest. Sacrifices are made at each of those stages. The key to finding balance now is to notice what feels hard. Is nutrition a struggle? Is the training time a struggle? Take all of those things and write them down so you can balance them. We want to be totally focused when we need to be so if you need to have a treat or take a day for yourself that is perfect to just do in the moment. Listening to your body and taking what you need in the moment is how to you get balance in an out of balanced dream chasing schedule.

Repeat this process as many times as needed!
