As humans we spend a lot of time learning how to do things better. We work on gaining knowledge, getting better at sports, and getting good at our favorite hobbies. Do you know one thing that we don't do?

We don't intentionally work on our "real life mechanics." No one teaches us what the best ways to move our bodies are for day to day life. You may have been carrying the clothes hamper wrong all this time. How would you know?

That is what we are here to do. To teach you how to carry the clothes hamper (among other various life tasks). Body mechanics are one of the main ways to keep from getting injured with most things. Some people move well naturally and others are what we call 'motor morons.'

Pointers:

  1. Use your legs

  2. Stand more

  3. Stretch tight things

  4. Fix your posture

  5. Make reminders to fix your posture

  6. Get a posture buddy and police each other

  7. Engage your core by drawing your belly button in all day long

  8. Pull your shoulder blades down when reaching overhead

  9. Move more

  10. Don't forget to apply posture to lifting and sports

If you have pain or movement limitations and want to understand why and how you can fix it to become pain free, give us a call and we can help you.
